A Farewell from Katrina

For those of you that I did not get the pleasure to introduce myself to, my name is Katrina Gehm. I have been serving FAIR as the Assistant to the Presi-dent for the past year and a half, however, for me, it feels like it has been so much longer.

newsletter - KatrinaAs some may know, I am the daughter of former Secretary-Treasurer Linda Crespillo. So to be more accurate, I have been serving FAIR since I was a young teenager, helping out as often as I could as my mom’s little assistant.

The Union life was how I grew up and all I ever really knew. I began my career in the industry at Raley’s Supermarket at the age of sixteen. Three years later, I followed in my mom’s footsteps and was hired at UFCW 8-Golden State as an “Office Tech”.

When my mom retired from FAIR, it felt natural to again follow in her footsteps and take on a role with FAIR. I have greatly enjoyed my time with FAIR, it has provided the opportunity to further my knowledge and skills in office administration, business management, and member servicing.

I came to the decision to step down from my position with FAIR when my husband and I welcomed a beautiful baby girl into our family. I’m continuing my career at UFCW 8 and am now excited to spend my time with my growing family.

For those of you I had the pleasure to work with or assist, thank you for the camaraderie.

I feel confident you are in good hands with your new Assistant to the President.
